The rain

Rain is a very natural phenomenon. It is the purest form of water. All of us have read it in science long ago in school.  The point here is that science doesn't teach us how to emote. No offence intended, science used to be my favourite subject back in school but today I have realised that emotions and phenomenons don't go hand in hand.
What comes to the mind when there is a thunder shower?  Poets have always compared the rain and dark clouds to dull and gloomy situations.  Even in our movies anything sad is symbolized by the rain. One life changing dialogue and you can hear the thunder in the background.
I have mixed feelings towards rain; at times it gives me a new joy and hope ; I feel like getting drenched and dancing in the rain. I welcome each and every drop and allow it to transcend my mind and soul.  You should look how little kids play in puddles of water.  I have never done that but it seems very inviting!  I came across a saying that certain people love the rain because no one can find out that they are crying.  This is something very touching.  What I personally feel is that the rain washes away our sins, at least thinking that way will make you feel lighter.  It is nature's gift to mankind. Change is inevitable and the changing seasons just symbolize that.  The smell of the wet mud, the beautiful greenery all around is what makes monsoons special.  Have you ever noticed after a shower how the entire area becomes a beautiful scenery.  Simply amazing!
Let us not be too happy about it.  Every thing has flip side to it.  In India the rains adversely affect the day to day life.  The roads are water logged, it becomes difficult for pedestrians to walk in the sludge.  Canals get clogged causing a flood like situation.  This is particularly common in Mumbai.
Anyway I would really like to thank God Almighty for showering his blessings upon us in the form of rain. Now it is your turn to think about it :)

Regards,
Vinita
